March 12-14 Officials from the Telšiai County Police Chief Commissariat, on the roads of Telšiai, Kelmė, Mažeikiai and Akmenė districts, unmasked drunk drivers one after another.
Across the county, 5 pretrial investigations into drunk driving were launched over the weekend, with drunkenness exceeding 1.50 per thousand.
People will lose the right to drive vehicles and will also face a fine, arrest or prison of up to one year:
- In Telšiai, Plungės St., a man born in 1968 with an alcohol consumption of 2.01 per thousand was driving an Audi 80;
- Kelmė district, Spaudžiai village, a drunk man (2.15 prom.), Born in 1989, was driving an AUDI A6 car and driving off the road;
- In Mažeikiai, Naftininkų St., a drunk, born in 1977, was driving a VW Passat and collided with another stationary BMW.
The driver had to drink 1.81 per thousand. The officers were also caught by a man without the right to drive, born in 1986, who lived in Kelmė district, Gedkančiai village. he was driving a Ford Mondeo with 2.07 per thousand of alcohol.

Despite the severe penalties, drunk drivers are still found on the roads, that is, to remove them from traffic, thus ensuring the safety of road users, which is one of the main tasks.
The authorities urge road users to behave in a responsible and disciplined manner on the road, not to drive under the influence of alcohol and without the right to do so.
