“What are the powerful Polish gas carriers doing on the Northern Bypass of the First Alytus?” Readers asked Tuesday morning.
The news portal Alytausgido.lt managed to contact a Polish company. His representative assured me that the photos show a lot, not gas, gas leaks, but frozen air, its vapors, that appeared during the filling of tanks in Alytus.
According to Małgorzata Bilska, a logistics specialist at Duon, the temperature of liquefied natural gas is minus 160 degrees, so when First Alytus’ tanks started to fill with gas, steam was released, which is probably more than usual because the air is humid.
“Thank you for your vigilance”, M. Bilska thanked our portal and its readers.
RENOVATED
As Laura Šebekienė, Amber Grid representative, informed our portal, these days a new international gas pipeline is being planned in the district of Alytus.Poland-Lithuania gas interconnection“(GIPL), which will connect Lithuania and Poland, is connected to the existing Lithuanian gas transportation system.
Due to the aforementioned works, after disconnecting the main gas pipeline to the Alytus gas distribution station, gas will be supplied to Alytus gas consumers from a special liquefied natural gas carrier delivered from Poland for three days.
The liquefied gas is evaporated in a special evaporator before entering the pipeline and is supplied as a gas.
Due to these works, gas consumers in the Alytus region should not experience any inconvenience, gas is supplied to customers as usual.
