These clubs’ first game in Italy after overtime 91:87 was won by CSKA basketball players. This time, however, the Italians managed to get revenge.
The first part was started off very well by the Milan visitors. CSKA stalled in attack and lost most of its shots. Olympia quickly built a solid lead and led 15:6. Muscovites heavily lost on both sides of the square lost the quarter 30:10.
In the second half, CSKA’s attack led by Mike James and Tornike Shengelia rebounded and the gap narrowed to 34:39.
However, Olimpia responded to the leadership of D.Itoudis’ team with an 8-point lead and went into the locker room with a solid 47:34 advantage.
In the third half, CSKA kept catching up with their opponents and was already close to 56:51. However, Olympia’s 3-pointers again increased the difference to 67:55. Finally, L. Datome also hit the triple with a half siren. Olimpia led by 15 points after three quarters – 70:55.
In the last quarter, CSKA Moscow tried to get back into the game again. The Muscovites, led by T. Shengelia and M. James, once again managed to reduce the result by 76:70. However, the two triples by K. Punter again allowed the Milan team to part ways.
At the end of the match, the Italians celebrated their 84:76 victory after playing with discipline.
