Unfortunately, the miracle did not happen, but the long-planned family vacation did not fail. Since it is already possible to leave for Latvia without restrictions, Vaida and Edvardas Kučinskas and their four children did the same: they brought a car to the Latvian brothers. During the week he visited many amusement parks, nature trails, many beautiful cities and natural corners of neighboring Latvia.
The route was coordinated with the little ones.
“All our trips are accompanied by a lot of noise. After all, there are so many children,” laughs mother Vaida. “I usually sit in a car with cotton earplugs in my ears because my noise-intolerant head just explodes from their gossip, fuss, relationship.” , where the weather is warm, it is much easier to carry. And during the holidays in Latvia, you wear children’s clothes during all four seasons! “
What, but there’s no shortage of kid-friendly attractions in Latvia. Both paid and free. Lots of amusement parks, stairs, trampolines.
According to Vaida, traveling for her family is not easy: she has long since left a hotel room. And choosing attractions for all tastes is hard enough – some want it, some want it, and a thirteen-year-old sometimes doesn’t know what she’d like.
“But my husband and I are used to it,” says the mother, who has been planning trips abroad for not the first year with all the children and even grandparents. Elijah, Kučinskas’ youngest daughter, will be four years old in August. Gemini Eric and Eliza will soon celebrate their sixth birthday, well, and Chief Emilia will be thirteen in the fall.

“When I planned a trip to Latvia, I coordinated the route with the little ones,” says Vaida. “It’s hard for modern teens to indulge, even though they still like to warm up on some black climbing routes.”
“What else, but there is definitely no shortage of children’s attractions in Latvia. There are many paid and free attractions. There are many amusement parks, stairs, trampolines,” says Kučinskas, who recently returned from there and planned more attractions for a week in. vacation you could experience.
The pace was quite intense. The family got up early, did not sit in one place for long. Usually one day was spent on an object. Mama Vaida is glad she did not feel quarantined in the Latvian neighbors, neither in the amusement parks nor in the hotels where she spent the night. Only very few people met. Tervetė Dwarf Park
First, Kučinskai visited the Tervetė Natural Park, which is located very close to Kaunas (just 179 km). It features wooden sculptures and trails, bridges, and bridges that take visitors through the Tervetė River Valley to the fantasy kingdom of Latvian writer Anna Brigadere, a fairy tale of dwarves.

Kučinskas liked that all the amusement areas in the park were set up outdoors, without changing the forest relief and using the existing natural beauties very naturally. By the way, in the Dwarf Forest, everything is the size of a dwarf: wooden houses, a mill, a sawmill and other buildings.
At the last stop, on the Atlėpaus meadow, the children are greeted by many obstacle courses. In them, the smallest climb (accompanied by their parents), and the largest are already crawling, skating and jumping alone. Parents can watch children’s fun from the living room, which has tables and benches. If the children are tired, it is possible to rent bicycles or strollers for the little ones to have fun on the forest trails.
Tarzan and network parks
Since our children, especially the twins, don’t know what fatigue is, of course we went there and spent the whole day.
Two new active recreation complexes have been opened next to the Tervetė Natural Park: the Tinklai and Tarzan Parks. Wooden houses, trampolines, basketball and ball courts, net tunnels: everything is located in the Parque de la Red at an average height of approximately 6 m.
And Tervete Tarzan Park greets visitors with nine tree-lined trails of varying difficulty, suitable for children of different ages and fitness levels.
“Both our teenager and toddlers found activities here,” says the mother, emphasizing that not all parks of this type have trails for younger visitors. “In the Tervete Tarzan playground we found three small trails that are not very high and are intended for children from 3 to 6 years old. Vidzeme rocks
Another previously planned wish of V. Kučinskienė was to see the Vidzeme rocks.

“The kids really enjoyed taking pictures of them and still falling into those crevices in the red rocks,” recalls mom.
Sledding and sledding race
In the Sigulda district, Kučinskai also visited the “Sigulda” toboggan run and toboggan run. When there is no competition, everyone who comes here has the opportunity to get a lot of adrenaline by testing the curves of the track.

Lygatne village
“I really recommend seeing it. It is a very interesting city with very beautiful old houses and the famous Lygatne paper mill, built in 1815,” says Vaida.
Once upon a time, all the residents of the village of Lygatne worked in that factory, and the paper they produced was used even in the Tsar’s own palace. All the factory workers lived in a kind of dormitory: a long wooden house, which they received according to their duties and the size of the family.
Now the paper mill is closed, only guided tours are made. The Kučinskas parents were fascinated by the city and its history, and their children were fascinated by the nature trail discovered near Lygatne.
