“Given that the number of cases has actually been registered in the last few weeks, we have about 55 active outbreaks today, where the first cases started 14 days ago. And there are about 20 more that have already been registered a little earlier, that have been registered a little earlier, because they have to wait 28 days, ”Daiva Razmuvienė, chief specialist of the NVSC’s Communicable Disease Management Division, told LRT radio Tuesday morning.

He noted that Raseiniai’s example showed that if the virus is not controlled in time, it spreads very widely, and the current worrying situation is also observed in Kelmė and Plungė.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus in Plungė, cultural, sporting and leisure events have been suspended since Monday, some students will study remotely, and social care institutions have been instructed to organize only necessary activities.

Meanwhile, in Raseiniai, there is currently an increase in the activity of people testing for coronavirus, almost a thousand tests have been performed here.

According to D. Razmuvienė, the virus is currently spreading faster among young people, therefore, although many cases are registered, people suffer from milder forms. According to the specialist, the virus is usually spread through various leisure activities: clubs, sports clubs.

Epidemiologists ask for restrictions on unnecessary activities or very strict compliance with safety requirements.
