The increase in active outbreaks was also recorded by epidemiologists last week at medical institutions. Here there were a third more active outbreaks (61) than a week earlier (45).
Specialists also identified more active outbreaks last week in manufacturing, commerce, the food industry, construction, logistics and transportation, agriculture and services. In week 39 of the year, the increase in outbreaks in these sectors was negligible, ranging from a few to several percent.
At that time, the downward trend of outbreaks in the last week of September was observed in both sewing companies and social services. Five (six weeks ago) and 11 (12 weeks ago) active outbreaks of COVID-19 were reported, respectively. According to epidemiologists, preventing outbreaks in establishments of this profile, where large outbreaks broke out last fall, is not only a good sign, but also a great example of the importance of vaccination for the epidemiological situation.
In total, 546 active COVID-19 outbreaks were recorded in Lithuania at the end of last week, compared with 504 the previous week.
