At the remote commission meeting on Wednesday, their candidacies were unanimously supported by 9 commission members.

The elected heads of the Ethics and Procedures Commission of the Seimas must be approved by the Seimas.

December 3 this year. The Seimas Ethics and Procedures Commission formed by the Seimas has 11 members of parliament.

They are members of the Seimas Irena Haase, Antanas Matulas, Kazys Starkevičius and Stasys Šedbaras (Group of the Lithuanian National-Christian Democratic Union), Guoda Burokienė and Aušrinė Norkienė (Group of the Union of Lithuanian Peasants and Greens), Andrius Bagdonas (Liberal Movement Group), Viktoras Fiodor faction of the party), Silva Lengvinienė (freedom faction), Dovilė Šakalienė (faction of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party) and Rita Tamašunienė (mixed group of Seimas members).

Among the most important functions of the Ethics and Procedures Commission is to supervise the observance of the Statute of the Seimas and other legal acts that regulate the activities of the members of the Seimas, examine violations of ethics, consider the conflicts of the members of the Seimas. The Commission also controls whether the funds received from the state budget for the expenses of a member of the Seimas related to his parliamentary activities, used for the intended purpose, analyze the reasons for the non-participation of the members of the Seimas in the meetings of the committees and Seimas commissions.

As established in the Statute of the Seimas, this commission is formed in accordance with the principle of proportional representation of the Seimas factions of eleven members of the Seimas.
The members of the Seimas who belong to the majority of the Seimas will nominate five candidates from the members of the Seimas who do not belong to the majority of the Seimas for the Ethics and Procedures Commission. The other six members of the Seimas are appointed to the Ethics and Procedures Commission by members of the Seimas who belong to a minority of the Seimas from members of the Seimas who belong to the majority of the Seimas.
