“During a pandemic, it is recommended to refrain from unnecessary travel abroad, but Lithuanian citizens can always return to Lithuania,” Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė’s spokeswoman Rasa Jakilaitienė told BNS on Monday.
“It is not forbidden to go out. It is important to check what restrictions and requirements apply the countries to which they come from Lithuania,” said the representative of the Prime Minister.
According to R. Jakilaitienė, currently other European countries do not close their borders.
“During the second wave of the pandemic, the borders of the states are no longer closed.” The movement of people is regulated in a common way throughout the European Union: isolation is required, a negative test is required, and people are not admitted. citizens if the situation comes from a very poor country, “he said.
The prime minister’s representative also said that people who need to leave the country will be able to move between municipalities.
“If you have to fly, of course you can get to the airport,” he said.
However, R. Jakilaitienė warned that people who came to Lithuania from abroad will also need to respect quarantine restrictions.
After the tightening of the quarantine, it is forbidden to meet people who do not live together in Lithuania from Wednesday, as well as to go outside their municipality, unless they go to work, funerals, necessary medical assistance or their own house in another municipality.
