The decision to close bars, restaurants and cafes and a curfew was made in mid-October. Furthermore, since then, the rule has been that citizens can only maintain close contact with one other member of their household. The exception only applies to single people who may have two of those contacts.

According to the government, the measures will run until December 13 inclusive. It is true that the need to close stores will be evaluated again on December 1.

The fall break that began at the schools has been extended until mid-November. In higher education, conferences will be held remotely until at least December 1.

Belgium is one of the European countries most affected by the coronavirus. The number of new infections per 100,000 residents here in the last 14 days reached 1,700.
