The certificate gives the right to participate in the first session of the new Seimas; this session should take place in mid-November at the invitation of President Gitanas Nausėda.

Subsequently, the certificate will be used as a voting card for a member of the Seimas. It will also be necessary for you to enter the Chamber, identify the member of the Seimas and vote for him. With it, a member of the Seimas can also enter the Seimas and the Government House, the Presidency, reported the Seimas Press Service.

Until the first session, the elected members of the Seimas must resign from any position that is incompatible with the mandate of the parliamentarian.

Due to the threat of COVID-19, it was decided to hold the certification ceremony outside the Seimas, but in the open air.

The Lithuanian Parliament is made up of 141 representatives of the nation. The members of the Seimas are elected in 71 single-member electoral districts and one multi-member electoral district according to a mixed electoral system. In single-member constituencies, 71 members of the Seimas are elected by a two-round system, and in a multi-member constituency, 70 members of the Seimas are elected by a proportional system.
