New list of affected countries: Estonia and Poland included, but with exceptions

Lithuania’s indicator, according to Friday’s data, is 31.2 case 100 thousand. population in 14 days. So Lithuania crossed the red line, but no decision was made to change the poster this week. As a result, a strange reality will take effect on Monday: arrivals from countries less affected by the coronavirus than Lithuania, such as Poland or Germany, will have to isolate themselves.

There are only EU / EEC countries that you will not have to isolate from after returning to Lithuania Latvia, Finland, Liechtenstein Y Cyprus. The red limits established on the continent did not exceed and Serbia.

Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia have also been removed from the list of the most affected countries, from where foreigners can only enter in accordance with the exceptions provided in the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

Estonia and Poland Exemptions and 14 days of isolation will not apply:

• Polish and Estonian citizens and persons legally residing there who have returned or arrived for reasons of work, studies, agricultural activities or healthcare.
• For people returning to or arriving in Poland via a country not affected by the coronavirus when only necessary stops are made in Poland, such as refueling or hygiene.
• In addition, isolation will not apply to agents who carry out extradition, transfer or take-over tasks.

It should be noted that people who have been exposed are considered returnees or arrivals from countries included in the list of countries affected by coronavirus infection or who have traveled through the affected countries. Isolation is mandatory for them. However, isolation is not required when people travel by plane without leaving the airport transit area or from a country not affected by a coronavirus infection through Poland, where only necessary stops are provided, such as refueling, hygiene, etc.

SAM reminds that all travelers returning to or arriving in Lithuania on regular, special or charter flights by air, sea or land must register with the NVSC electronically from Tuesday 15 September. This means that before boarding a plane, ferry, bus or train, a person will have to fill out a form on the NVSC website and present the confirmation received, the so-called QR code, at the time of boarding the vehicle.

In cases where a person has traveled independently by land, they must register with the NVSC electronically no later than 12 hours after the time of return or arrival in Lithuania.

For Lithuanian citizens and people legally residing in Lithuania, such a study is not mandatory when returning or arriving in Lithuania, but 14 days of isolation is still mandatory.

The SAM recalls that the list of countries most affected is updated weekly, taking into account epidemiological indicators in foreign countries.
