The new maximum technical inspection prices were set by LTSA based on the financial data and estimated costs provided by the technical inspection centers and applying the formulas of the approved Methodology.

The main reason for the increase in prices for mandatory roadworthiness tests is the increase in direct and indirect costs of roadworthiness test centers: staff salaries, energy costs and investment costs.

The pricing review also assessed the number of roadworthiness test procedures performed by companies in 2019 and 2020.

One of the factors that also determined the change in the prices of the mandatory inspection is the adjustment of the average time required for the mandatory inspection. Average time costs obtained are based on data provided in the Centralized Inspection Database and LTSA employee monitoring and measurement results. This means that LTSA staff monitored the mandatory live roadworthiness tests and measured how long it took the fitness to drive inspector to inspect specific classes of vehicles on the inspection lines.

New roadworthiness test prices for the most popular vehicles

Delphi has previously written that the prices for roadworthiness tests have not changed in Lithuania for more than five years. Until the new methodology, it reached 14.5 euros for gasoline cars, 18.2 euros for diesel cars and 23.4 euros for gas cars.
