“We would like to announce that Mr. Antanas Guoga has returned after suspending his activities in the company and resigning from the Lithuanian Parliament on January 13. in order to devote all his time to Cypherpunk Holdings, the company said in a statement.

A. Guoga announced his resignation from the Seimas not on January 13, but on January 12. However, even if he keeps his promise, A. Guoga is still officially a member of the Seimas.

His mandate will end with the holding of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), which was not held this week and is not scheduled. Therefore, A. Guoga will remain officially a member of the Seimas at least until next week.

If the company’s report is true and A. Guoga has officially returned to the CEO position, it could be breaking the law. The legal acts establish that a member of the Seimas cannot participate in any activity other than creative activity.

The news portal tv3.lt has already written that there are suspicions about A. Guoga’s activities in a Canadian company. Although the politician was appointed director on his page, Guoga himself assured that he is still only a shareholder.

A. Guoga announced Tuesday that he was retiring from the Seimas. He claimed that the Labor Party, with which he was elected to the Seimas, had become a hostage of a person, and that he himself intended to devote all his attention to charity and public education after his retirement.
