The revitalization and adaptation of cultural heritage assets to tourism needs are successfully implemented projects of the Šalčininkai district municipality. One of them is the repair of the interior of the Vilkiškė manor house, which will ensure the start of its activities. The idea that it will soon come alive is coming: youthful thoughts will spread here, youth camps, meetings, concerts, educational events, exhibitions will be boisterous. But until now, the builders are still working here.

According to the specialists of the Department of Construction and Architecture, the finishing works, plastering of walls, restoration of doors and floors are currently underway. Basement finishing work is almost finished. The old wet basement will amaze with preserved niches, exposed arches and brick vaults that blend perfectly with the white color of the walls. On the ground floor a wooden staircase leading to the attic is being rehabilitated, engineering works, electrical heating and ventilation installations are being carried out. The restoration and plastering work on the first floor of the ceiling has been completed, the putty and painting work is now underway. The final result also stands out in the attic: the walls are plastered and painted and the skylights are finished. The necessary infrastructure for the full operation of the building has been created: a boiler room and a wastewater treatment plant.

The constant works of the Šalčininkai district municipality since the beginning of the renovation of the manor house building in 2014 will soon create the conditions that guarantee the promotion of the cultural heritage object and the variety of services provided to young people. In addition, several implemented projects will allow to rediscover Vilkiškės on the tourist map of Lithuania.
