He emphasized that the people and departments working in Kaunas were given certain expectations: they were promised that they could have real estate in Kaunas, work in different conditions, therefore, during the return process of the Ministry, efforts would be made not to damage them.
“We do not want to make sudden movements, we will listen to those expectations so as not to hurt ourselves. Kovid provided the opportunity to work remotely. In the long run, there could also be a format that we will not necessarily be attached to where we live. Many decisions, legal acts or resolutions can be prepared remotely, ”said the designated agriculture minister.
It was planned that the Kaunas functions would be carried out by four independent divisions of the Ministry of Agriculture: Program, Project Management and Analysis Division, Division for Cooperation with Municipalities and Social Partners, Division for Knowledge Development and Consulting, and Division for Infrastructure and Utilization of Biofuels.
According to the SNB, the employees of these four divisions now work in Kaunas.
“27 positions have been created, four of which are still vacant,” said the reply.
The “peasants” have been preparing to move the Ministry from Vilnius to Kaunas since the beginning of his term in 2016. At the end of last year, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis also promised that there will be separate subdivisions of the Ministry of Agriculture not only in Kaunas , but also in Panevėžys and Alytus. The prime minister said at the time that relocating units to other cities was important to promote regional politics.
