The Lithuanian leader will initially meet with the spokesman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Razumkov, and later his speech to the country’s parliamentarians is scheduled.
On Friday, G. Nausėda will also visit the National Military Hospital and meet wounded soldiers in eastern Ukraine, visit the Orthodox monastery – Kiev Pechior Laura.

During her visit to Kiev, Nauseda said she would ask the West to intensify sanctions on Russia over the situation in eastern Ukraine, where Moscow-backed separatists continue to fight Kiev forces.
“We cannot close our eyes to the unfulfilled commitments of Russia and the continuous murder of the Ukrainian people. We do not see the will of Russia to end the war in Donbas, therefore, if the situation at the international level does not change, we will invite democracies to strengthen sanctions against Russia, “said G. Nausėda during a press conference on Thursday.
Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine in February-March 2014, when Pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych was overthrown in Kiev.
The United States and the European Union have imposed sanctions on Russia for this.
