NASA: You can go back to the Moon in 2024, it only gives 28 billion

“We are returning to the Moon to make scientific discoveries and inspire a new generation of researchers,” Bridenstine said. “By creating a permanent home, we are also preparing for the first steps on the Red Planet.”

NASA’s $ 28 billion Mission to the Moon is part of the Artemis space program. Astronauts will fly to the Moon with NASA and Orion’s new Space Launch System rocket.

JF Bridenstine noted that NASA is often threatened by “political dangers,” especially before such an important election. It tells you if Congress approves the first $ 3.2 billion by Christmas. For a financing project in US dollars, the landing may occur as planned in 2024.

The planned landing of the woman on the Moon was announced at a time when President Donald Trump is seeking to win the sympathy of female voters before the November election. The president has stated that he wants to offer a woman to the place of the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.

Three projects are participating in the tender for the development of a lander to transport two astronauts from the Orion spacecraft to the surface of the Moon.

One of the projects is being developed by Blue Origin, a company founded by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, in collaboration with Draper, Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman. Other projects are being developed by SpaceX and Elonas Musko’s Dynetics.

In 2021, an unmanned mission is planned around the Moon “Artemis-1”. In 2023, there will be a pilot flight around the Moon, Artemis-2, and in 2024, the Artemis-3 mission will land on the surface of the Moon and stay there for a week. Astronauts will collect soil and rock samples, search for water and other resources, and conduct science experiments.
