Narkevičius – on Andrejev’s dismissal: we don’t want to focus on any emphasis on rape

“We have provided a lot of information that there is work to be done. An audit was recently completed showing that there is work to be done and that we do not want to focus on a certain emphasis on rape, but we want to emphasize what needs to be done to improve. People expect results, roads, municipalities expect cooperation, and that is the essential, “J. Narkevičius told journalists on Friday.

He also said the ministry had concerns about whether the changes related to the LAKD reorganization would be implemented in September.

“Our team has doubts about whether we will be able to fully implement the objectives set in relation to the reorganization of the institution, which should be completed before September 1,” the minister said.

J. Narkevičius also emphasized that, in the opinion of the Ministry, the decision to remove V. Andrejeva is legal.

Andrejev will appeal the decision on the dismissal of the post of LAKD chief

For his part, Mr. Andreev himself confirmed that he had read the order of his dismissal and assured him that he would appeal the decision.

He was also surprised at the deadlines set in his order for his dismissal.

“It is stated that since August 31 it is planned, this does not mean that it is a fact, but it is planned to abolish the post in accordance with the order, because there are no more budgetary institutions.” With this order, the Minister has made the decision to postpone or advance the dismissal: the actual dismissal will be on August 31, but as of July 3, according to this order, which is a bit confusing, I will not continue my duties.

With this order, the Minister also asks me not to make any decision and not to go to work until August 31, “stated V. Andrejev.

When asked if his dismissal may have been caused by criticism of J. Narkevičius regarding decisions made in the field of road asphalt, V. Andrejev replied that he did not criticize the decisions of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, only stating if they were illegal.

“This is not a criticism, it is a statement of fact,” Andreyev said.

At the same time, he indicated that the decision to dismiss will be appealed.

“Why am I going to appeal the decision? I’ll explain the reasons later, “V. Andrejev told LAKD journalists on Friday.

He acknowledged that it was not easy for him to evaluate the arguments set forth in the Minister’s order.

“I find it confusing to understand what is written in the order, because some points contradict each other, but it is written that way,” added Andrejev.

The Transport Ministry announced the dismissal of V. Andrejev on Friday.

It is announced that Remigijus Lipkevičius, the director of the Administration Department of this institution, will temporarily act as director of LAKD.

Management must transform from a budgetary institution into a state-owned company by September 1.
