Murders

About twenty kilometers from Helsinki is the small town of Espoo, located near Lake Bodom, an extremely quiet and picturesque place. However, in the 1960s, the romantic beauty of this place has been forever ruined by the triple murder, reports historicmysteries.com.

In the early 1960s. June 6 At night, four teenagers, two boys and two girls, pitched tents on the shores of Lake Bodum. There were two couples: Seppo Boisman and Tuulikki Mäki and Nils Gustafsson and Irmeli Björklund. Both girls were fifteen and the boys were eighteen. Around eleven thirty at night, both couples went to bed. What exactly happened that night, so far no one knows, but on June 6. Around the eleventh morning, a man who came to swim in the lake saw a horrible scene and found, in the end, four corpses.

Someone attacked teenagers who were lying in a tent; three of them died and a fourth, Nils Gustaffson, survived, only to be knocked unconscious. Puncture wounds and bruises were found on all bodies, and the tent fabric was torn and spattered with blood. Several items belonging to teenagers, clothing and money were missing.

Police discovered that the attack took place between 4:00 and 6:00 in the morning, most likely the killer was armed with a knife and a blunt object. However, the researchers were unable to determine which killing tool injured the teens. Anyway, the weapon was not found.

Some of the teens’ clothes were found bloody 500 meters from the crime scene, but even stranger was that the killer stole the keys to S. Boisman’s motorcycle but did not steal the motorcycle itself. Police used troops to help search the area and find the missing items, but very few were found. For whatever reason, officials failed to protect the crime scene and it was snatched up by members of the press and concerned residents. This is believed to have damaged some of the evidence.

After the autopsy, it turned out that Irmeli Björklund is the one with the most stab wounds. Other victims were killed in a less brutal way.

Suspects

Police have identified many suspects in the Lake Bodom Massacre case, including survivor Nils Gustafsson.

Gustafsson said he had little recollection of the events since he was first attacked. He informed the officers that he had lost his orientation, so the killer, whoever he was, must have thought he was dead and rushed to kill other members of the group. Mr. Gustafsson recalled that the man was dressed in black and bright red.

Interestingly and frighteningly, several people admitted to being murderers, but all of those who confessed the night of the crime, as it turned out, were elsewhere.

Pentti Soininenas

The first suspect, a brutal criminal, Pentti Soininen, confessed to killing a teenager with a person in prison in the mid-1960s.

Mr. Soininen actually lived near the crime scene. However, at the time the crime was committed, he was only fourteen years old. It is unlikely that a fourteen-year-old would have been able to defeat four individuals of a similar age, all the more so to kill them and leave virtually no evidence.

It ended in a strange atomic union: Pentti Soininen hung up in 1969. June 6 – during the ninth year of the massacre.

Karl Valdemar Gyllstrom

Karl Valdemar Gyllstrom was the main suspect. Reports announced that, while drunk, he confessed to killing teenagers for his neighbor, but later denied doing so.
Mr. Gyllstrom was an angry man and he hated children and campers terribly. A few days after the massacre, Gyllstrom was seen pouring concrete into a well in his backyard. People suspected that in this way they wanted to dispose of the tools of crime or the belongings of the victims. The strangest thing is that the police did not investigate these complaints.

Mr. Gyllstrom’s wife confirmed his alibi, stating that he had been in bed at all times the night of the crime. However, she later denied the alibi, stating that the man threatened to kill her if she betrayed him.
Locals also said they saw Gyllstrom in early June 6. He returns home in the morning, but for fear of his sharp manners he was afraid to report to the police. However, the investigation into Mr. Gyllstrom’s possible involvement in the crime quickly came to an end. killed, as did Pentti Soininen.

Gyllstrom is said to have confessed to his friend Börje [pavardė neskelbiama]he killed teenagers, but Börje didn’t believe him. When asked by Mr. Gyllstrom what he would have to do if he were really guilty, Börje replied: “You just have to drown, otherwise you will have to spend the rest of your life in prison.”

A few hours later, Gyllstrom went to Lake Bodom and drowned there.

Hansas Assmannas

One of the important suspects in the Bodom Lake case was Hans Assmann, who is believed to have been a KGB spy.

1960 June 6 Mr. Assmann arrived at the Helsinki Surgery Clinic for a serious psychological condition while wandering. His clothing appeared mottled with red spots and his panagas were black. He spoke incoherently.

Mr. Assmann tried to manipulate the doctors and pretended to lose consciousness so that they would accept him more quickly than other patients. When this trick failed, Assmann became hostile to staff and patients, and was eventually asked to leave.

Interestingly, the two boys reported seeing a blond man flee from the scene where the crime occurred around the time the crime was committed.

Mr. Assmann did have long blond hair, but when the children’s testimonies were made public, he shaved naked. Furthermore, the clothes H. Assmann wore when he visited the hospital also matched the description of the children.

Assmann lived on the shores of Lake Bodom, and his behavior at the time the crime was committed and after he raised suspicions with the police. Several detectives believed that Assmann was involved in the crime in one way or another, although he may not be directly responsible for it.

Additionally, Assmann has been suspected of crimes in the past, appearing as a suspect in the murder of Auli Kyllikki Saari, one of the most famous cases in Finnish history. 1953 he was assassinated at the age of 17. a Finnish teenager, and H. Assmann became the prime suspect. Police also linked him to at least three other unsolved cases.

Nilsas Wilhemas Gustafssonas

The surviving teenager, Nils Wilhelm Gustafsson, who survived the tragedy, lived a normal life for more than forty years. He married, had two children with his wife, and went out to rest. However, in 2004 Finnish police reopened the case upon finding new DNA evidence. The blood of all the victims was found on NW Gustafsson’s shoes. It was assumed that the killer, whoever he was, wore NW Gustafsson’s shoes during or after the crime.

Police have theorized that NW Gustafsson may have killed friends by causing a scene of jealousy for his new friend Irmeli Björklund. There are no specific details as to what could have caused NW Gustafsson to be so shocked, but he was allowed to reexamine the available evidence and investigate the case from the perspective of new possible motives. In an attempt to explain why NW Gustafsson was also seriously injured, investigators speculated that he stabbed himself and hit him to make it appear that the attacker was not him.

NW Gustafsson’s girlfriend, I. Björklund, suffered most of the wounds, stab wounds, so it could be suspected that she was killed out of jealousy. However, it is unlikely that NW Gustafsson could have committed such a heinous crime due to the jealousy of adolescence.

2005 In October, the court dismissed all charges against him, so the identity of the real murderer remained undisclosed.

Another mysterious thing about the massacre at Lake Bodum is the strange photo of the funeral.

During the initial interview, Nils Gustafsson was hypnotized and asked to retell the events in as much detail as possible. Remembering what the criminal looked like, he told the details to the artist who created the criminal’s sketch. Later, during the funeral of the victims in Bodom, someone photographed the audience and the photo captured a man who surprisingly matched the photographic robot.

However, the identity of the mystery man was not revealed. Some believe it was Hans Assman, but other sources claim that Assman did not attend the funeral.

Consequences of the Bodom tragedy

Fifty-year-old Finnish parents warn their children to behave correctly, otherwise they may become victims of the mysterious murderer Bodom. In Finland, it has become a horror that intimidates children, a terrible creature that attacks abusive children.

Most of the people involved in the mysterious Bodum crime died during this time and all information about the tragedy was taken to their graves.

The question of who and why killed three teenagers so brutally will likely never be answered, and the killer will likely not be punished anyway.
