At approximately 2 am, the police received a report of a family conflict on a suburban street.

Soon a team of two policemen arrived at the scene, who confronted a man who was behaving inappropriately at his home. The latter disobeyed the officers, got into a Volvo car and smoked on the streets of Šilutės.

The high-speed car got stuck in the city for a while, but soon a man on the central city street, Tilžės, did not control the car, he entered the oncoming traffic lane and crashed into a tree.

Even the man who crashed into a tree did not calm down, actively resisted the officers and behaved aggressively. When the police could not control it, they were assisted by border guards summoned to the scene, as well as doctors and fire and rescue workers.

Through a concerted effort, the fierce man was controlled, lifted onto a stretcher, strapped down, and taken to hospital.

The detainee was soon transferred to the Švėkšna mental hospital and the incident is believed to have been caused by an exacerbated mental disorder.

According to available data, the officials were not injured in the incident.
