“Those who knew Ned know that there are very few like him,” said Paulius Lubas, head of the Superbaikas biker sports team and friend of the deceased, after speaking about the young man who had just died.
The team leader said that Ned had been dedicated to motorcycling all his life, so he was always an active member of the community.
Remembering his friend, P. Lubas stated that Nedo’s passion for motorcycles was noticed even by an employer in the United States, where a young man who worked worked 16 hours a day only to return to Lithuania to buy a new motorcycle and participate. in the race. Still, the dreams were shattered by the drunk driving maneuver.

The last trip surrounded by motorcycles.
After the tragic event, the motorcycle community decided to accompany like-minded friends and siblings in the way they thought Ned would have liked. The following day, a message was spread on the team’s social network:
“Yesterday, on May 22, 2020, a tragedy occurred, during which the young Son, Brother, Friend, Team Member was killed. Ned was the man unconditionally dedicated to motorcycling. He was a capitalist in Rider. It is very unfortunate and painful that everything can change in an instant. Anyone who knew Ned, probably knowing how enthusiastic and energetic he was, never left anyone without a smile and how important his hobby was to him and that it was the purpose and love of his life. After talking to our family members, we decided that Ned would really like to go on his last trip with motorcycle friends and siblings. “
The team leader said that both friends and community members knew that he would have wanted to be accompanied in exactly that way, and his family members did not hesitate.
Fearing the streets was scared
Speaking of the loss of a friend, Mr. Lubas did not hide his anger and was disappointed that after the tragic traffic accident caused by a drunk driver, some road users blamed the motorcyclist for not choosing a safe speed. The head of Superbaikas claimed that such statements were almost absurd, because a drunk driver just couldn’t be justified, and Ned himself couldn’t fly, because there was a reason for that.
“On Thursday, on the eve of the disaster, after the overhaul, the engine of the Nedo motorcycle was mounted, so its power was limited to 10-15 percent. So Ned had to drive a thousand miles. Also, when we spoke earlier Ned said he was afraid to drive on the street faster, so he would go to the Nemunas ring to “pass,” P. Lubas explained.
Lack of attention
The man admitted that the streets of flying cities can certainly be seen, but such drivers sit not only on the motorcycle but also behind the wheel of the car. The motorcyclist said the country’s roads still lack tolerance not only for different groups of road users, but also the attention of drivers.
“Motorcyclists are the same road users as car drivers, but the problem may be that we are not involved in traffic year round, so every spring car driver has to go back to the usual focus on something else. than cars, “said the sports team leader.

Lubas said he found himself in situations that clearly showed that those who sat in cars did not always realize they were riding “steel horses,” so he urged like-minded people to always ride as if their I walk off to the side, because only then could the bikers be at least a little. safer and, as others go unnoticed, take action for your own safety.
“It is always necessary to evaluate other drivers, almost anticipate their possible actions, because in any case, even if the driver of the car is to blame for the traffic accident, the motorcyclist will be the one who will suffer the most,” Lubas emphasized.
The path must be level
Speaking about the painful accidents, Vytautas Grašys, head of the Lithuanian Highway Police Service, said that it was very important that everyone involved in traffic focus all their attention only on driving and showing mutual respect.
“Motorcyclists are the same road users as other drivers, cyclists or pedestrians, so only attention can help prevent such accidents,” said V. Grašys, adding that there were 43 traffic accidents with motorcyclists before 27 May this year. , injuring 45 wounded and killing 5 motorcyclists.
The head of the Highway Police Service explained that the situation was similar last year, since although 3 motorcyclists were killed during the same period in 2019, the number of recorded incidents reached 62 and 75 people were injured during them.
