The most popular boy names in 2020 were Ben, Mark, girls: Leah, Amelia, according to data collected by the Records Center in mid-December.
Last year, Ben and Mark ranked seventh and eighth in popularity, respectively, and Leah and Amelia were second and fourth, respectively.
As the Center of Registers notes, there have been no significant changes in the dozens over the years: Luke, Matthew (the third and fourth most popular names), Noah, James, Dominic, Hercules, Caiaus are not removed from the list of the most popular children’s names. Emilija, Luknė, Liepa, Sofija, Gabija, Patricija, Kamilė continue to appear on the list of girls’ names.
“There is a newcomer in the top 10 boys this year: Adam, who was 15th last year, and Austėja, who was 12th a year ago, was in the top 10 girls this year,” she says. Mindaugas Samkus, representative of the Registry Center.
