The organization’s lists now include 106 people, several of whom have already been released.

Most of these people, according to human rights defenders, were detained in Minsk, but there were also arrests in other cities in the country: Novopolotsk, Zaslavl, Pinsk, Liachovichi and the village of Borovliania near Minsk.

The protests took place in various parts of the city on Sunday in Minsk and some other cities. Law enforcement officers chased the crowd and arrested some of them.

In the morning, military teams entered the Belarusian capital and the squares in the city center were blocked.

In Minsk, more than 10 metro stations were closed and a mobile Internet connection established. All metro stations are currently operational.

Belarus has been holding massive protests for the fourth month in a row since the presidential elections on August 9, officially announced by Aliaksandr Lukashenko, who has ruled the country since 1994. The opposition and western democracies consider these elections rigged.

The protesters are demanding the resignation of Lukashenko, the release of political prisoners and new elections.
