With 44 seconds left in the game, Jaleel O’Brien connected two points and increased the hosts’ lead to 4 points (88:84).
However, Danilo Nikoličius scored three points and returned the intrigue to the game: Budučnost’s deficit was reduced to a minimum (87:88).
Moments later, O’Brien controlled his nerves at the penalty line, where he hit both shots and increased Monaco’s lead (90:87).
Nikoličius tried to end Budučnost’s decisive attack with a long shot again, but this time his 3-pointer flew by and the final siren declared Monaco triumph.
The winners were Mathias Lessort, who scored 24 points (7/10 doubles, 10/12 penalties), 7 rebounds and 3 interceptions, 1 assists, 1 block, 7 fouls, 5 errors and 29 utility points.
