Lietkabelis, who did not play for the Vilnius Rytas club last weekend due to COVID-19 cases, had a two-week break and seemed a bit sleepy after that.

In the first half, Panevėžys still had a double-digit lead (18: 8), but Pasvalys outscored their opponents and after two halves they were already leading 41:38.

The result after two quarters signaled a possible intrigue, but it evaporated within minutes of the third quarter.

“Lietkabelis”, who completely surrounded his opponents on defense, spent only 6 points on his basket during the quarter, and by attacking without any obstacles before the last half, they already had a 14-point lead – 61:47.

The scene of the match has not changed in the last 10 minutes either. Soon after, Nenad Chanak’s students had an advantage of 20 points (71:51), and Lietkabelis, who missed only 13 points in the fourth quarter and a total of 19 points in the second half of the game, achieved a resounding victory and surpassed “Rytas” in the rankings.

Lietkabelis dominated almost every statistical graph. N. Čanakas’ team threw more points (63% against 39%), triples (30% against 27%), free throws (77% against 63%), more rebounds (45 against 33%), made more effective passes ( 19 against 18) and they also took over more balls (9 against 4).

Kyle Viñales was the most productive among the winners, scoring 22 points, but Gytis Masiulis outscored him in utility.

On the account of the young striker – even 31 points of utility. He scored 17 points (4/5 doubles, 2/3 trit., 3/6 penalty) and bounced 11 balls.

G. Masiulis has not played that profitably in the LKL championships this season so far.

The Panevėžys club won even though they had to play without one of the leaders Paulius Valinskas. This injured the meniscus and he may not play for more than a month.

After the defeat, Pasvalys’ people fell to fifth place, skipping Utena’s “Juventus”. The three-win series “Milk Stars” was interrupted at Panevėžys.

Waterproof: Kyle Vinales 22 (8/10 diat.), Gytis Masiulis 17 (11 reb, 31 points of use), Margiris Normantas 11, Vytenis Lipkevičius 10 (6 reb).

“Milk stars”: Edgaras Želionis 11, Paulius Petrilevičius 10 (10th ed., 6th ed.), Tomas Lekūnas 9 (7th ed.).
