Father’s Day is celebrated in Lithuania on the first Sunday in June. Opera soloist Merūnas Vitulskis reveals that when he grew up without his father, this day gained meaning only when children appeared in his family. The man who raises two charismatic children, Ajai and Herk, claims that parenthood is a very responsible step in life that brings an indescribable sense of responsibility.

“I myself grew up without a father and my grandfather died at the age of forty, so the importance of Father’s Day grew when he became a father himself, and that meaning grows every year as he begins to understand its value. as a parent. ” he knows his responsibilities and that attachment to his children. The role of the father is a very big responsibility, because it means thinking about the future, the well-being and the psychological stability of the children ”, says Merūnas.

The opera soloist says there is no tradition at home to commemorate Father’s Day in any way and appreciates the attention and care he receives and shares on a daily basis.

“We try to show the attention of others on another day, not just holidays. Probably all children do all kinds of jobs for their father in kindergartens and schools. Sometimes it feels like a child is doing it just because He ordered it, but it’s a lot of fun when you see that the gift has been worked and worked sincerely to try to surprise you. The most memorable surprise was the song “Umbrella, Hedgehog, help us and papa help me, and papa, and papa, and papa , hidden. “It was his first song, so I remember it very well,” laughs Merūnas.

Boxer Daugirdas Šemiotas also supports Merun, as long as he does not feel much need for Father’s Day, but he is always happy when he receives an unexpected greeting from his teenage son Nikolas.

“As a child, all parents have probably received drawings of their children. But the child’s attention, whatever it is, is extremely important to me. I am glad that as he grows up he understands these things, appreciates them, for him, family always comes first and the warmth that radiates from his heart is the greatest joy for me as a father, ”says Daugirdas.

There is no shortage of joy in the home of Sri Lankan chef Dylan Dampella Gamage. The man, who has been living in Lithuania for a decade, is happy with the increase in his family; exactly one month ago, their daughter Deilina was born. Dylan, who became a father for the second time, claims that this time he was visited with completely different feelings than when his first son, Neid, was born a year and a half ago.

“One thing is when the first child is born, another thing is when the daughter is born. That is what he really wanted in the family to have a son, a daughter. It is a true dream come true, the best thing that has happened in life ”, the Sri Lankan does not hide his joy.

Dylan reveals that she and her lover Renata were concerned about how their son Neid would accept the new family member. However, the boy quickly assumed the role of the older brother and surprised the parents with his care and love for the little sister.

“We really wondered if Neid would not be jealous when another child came into the family. After all, until then, he was the only king in the house who received all the attention and love. But he was even really surprised at how much he He had already taken care of his sister the first day. He loves her, he doesn’t do anything malicious. It’s another great joy, because we didn’t expect everything to turn out so well, “says Dylan.

A Sri Lankan chef says the pandemic has caused the cancellation of a long-planned trip to his homeland. He has not seen his parents live for several years, and they are still eager to meet and spend time with their grandchildren.

“In the past, there was no thought to celebrate Father’s Day. In Sri Lanka, the third Sunday in June is mentioned, but I haven’t been to my hometown for almost four years. We had planned a trip but were unable to leave due to the pandemic. My parents are eager to see their grandchildren live. I may be able to fly this winter, because September is the best time to travel in Sri Lanka, when the warm season begins, ”says Dylan.

Remigijus Žiogas, the host of the event who is raising three children, reveals that sometimes, working with various celebrations every day, sometimes he no longer wants to organize special occasions at home. And although the man maintains that there is no shortage of attention on the part of children, it is much more important for him to pay that attention to the growing offspring.

“Being a father is very important to me. It is a great dream come true, because I always wanted to have three children, a wife, a house. My work is related to vacations every day, so we do not give much importance to the day of Dad or mother. Sometimes you just want peace, because the little ones in the house are constantly in agreement, they do not agree, it is a matter of surviving after five in the afternoon, but it also shows that we are alive, we have needs and they are human. My biggest party is being with my wife, without children, and being happy to have them together, “says Remigijus.
