Portal lrytas.lt I interviewed elders from all factions of the Seimas to see how many of its members would take the opportunity to get vaccinated in order of priority.

There were no resignations in the Freedom Group

Elder of the Freedom Faction Ieva Pakarklytė for the portal lrytas.lt He indicated that they had not been denied any vaccine against the coronavirus in their group, and some colleagues had already registered as of Tuesday. “It’s not that anyone disagrees,” said I. Pakarklytė.

It is true that he noted that some members of the group were vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis last week, so COVID-19 will not be vaccinated at the moment.

“There are some, like me, who cannot be vaccinated in the next few weeks because we have been vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis. As it is not compatible with other vaccines, this gap is necessary. Let’s say that I myself, and I know that Silva Lengvinienė, a member of the faction, cannot just do it medically this week, “said I. Pakarklytė.

The group elder hoped that those faction members would have a chance to get vaccinated in a few weeks.

TS-LKD: All members of the group intend to get vaccinated

Radvilė Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė, Chairman of the Group of the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union (TS-LKD) lrytas.lt reported that all group members also intend to be vaccinated.

“All members of the TS-LKD group are really positive about AstraZeneca. We believe that it is the duty of all members of the Seimas to get vaccinated and show that they trust the AstraZeneca vaccine,” commented R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė.

According to R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė, 37 members of the faction should be vaccinated with AstraZeneca in the next two weeks.

Last week, ten members of the TS-LKD faction were also vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis, so they are still unable to vaccinate against COVID-19. The remaining members of the group have already relapsed COVID-19 and currently have resistant immunity to the virus, so they do not need to be vaccinated.

The Liberal Group has no codecision

Eugenijus Gentvilas, the eldest of the Liberal Seimas faction, for the portal lrytas.lt He did not know exactly how many comrades in the faction intended to be vaccinated, but stressed that even before the vaccine crisis AstraZeneca was against vaccination of Seimas members, but now he changed his position to maintain confidence in all vaccination. process.

“Earlier, about half of the faction members said that Seimas members should be vaccinated, and I said with several colleagues that there was no need to change the rules of the game in the middle of the game. But when what happened, it stopped. , the vaccination against AstraZeneca was resumed, I think there was a real threat to the confidence in vaccination in general, ”Gentvilas did not hide.

He claimed to be actually vaccinated against COVID-19. “They will vaccinate me. I feel very good, half of the members of the group have gotten sick. I think I have good immunity, I was not in a hurry anywhere, but if my vaccine helps someone decide to create greater immunity for the nation, then give it to God, ”said the elder of the group.

According to E. Gentvilas, all members of the Seimas should be vaccinated. “Someone will still accuse it of being a privilege, even if you get vaccinated later. You still accuse me in some way. Now such a pervasive veil of outrage on all issues is what you will already do,” joked a member of the Seimas.

What is the situation in the LVŽS faction?

Aušrinė Norkienė, the largest of the Lithuanian Peasants and Greens (LVŽS) faction, for the portal lrytas.lt reported that the possibility of vaccination was welcomed by a group of colleagues and a significant number had already registered for vaccination. He was unable to specify how many members of the group intended to be vaccinated.

“It just came to our notice then. We can register for three days: tomorrow, tomorrow and Thursday. I have seen colleagues register, we will all meet tomorrow morning, we will know more. The general attitude was that we want and we can get vaccinated, and that is AstraZeneca, – emphasized the older of the LVŽS faction.

According to A.Norkienė, most of the faction members already registered for the vaccine on Tuesday. “Part of Wednesday or Thursday, I only plan on Thursday, because then it is more convenient to find time,” explained the elder of the group.

When asked if there was any discussion about the fact that MPs elected by the vaccine manufacturer will not be able to do so, A. Norkienė said that all vaccination colleagues agree with that.

“There was definitely no outrage, perhaps because we had already discussed it, we also called the Speaker of the Seimas. We are in favor of the AstraZeneca vaccine being completely safe, ”he said.

Social Democratic Elder: We don’t have antivirals

Algirdas Sysas, the eldest of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) faction in the Seimas, belongs to the portal in the priority group due to age. lrytas.lt He assured that he would receive his second vaccination on Tuesday.

When asked about colleagues in the group, he said that two people have been vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis, so COVID-19 still cannot be vaccinated and some are still sick.

“And everyone else will probably get vaccinated, but I can’t say the exact number. We don’t have anticoagulants,” said A. Sys.

The Labor faction intends to hold a debate on Tuesday

Vigilijus Jukna, the eldest of the Labor Party faction, for the portal lrytas.lt He also said he had no information on how many members of the group were planning to get vaccinated with AstraZeneca.

“Tomorrow, when we are at the Seimas, everyone will be alive in the session, and we will probably share our impressions about it,” said V. Jukna.

According to him, in the past there was no talk of intentions to vaccinate among the members of the group.

“Vaccination is a matter and a more personal choice, here there can be no violence. We did not have such deep conversations as to really tell everyone if we get vaccinated or not,” said a member of Seimas.

At that time, V. Jukna herself said that she had decided to get vaccinated: “I have never been against vaccines and, if possible, I will be vaccinated.”

In a mixed group of MPs, opinions are mixed too

Rita Tamašunienė, Deputy Elder of the Joint Group of Members of the Seimas for the Portal lrytas.lt told her that each of her colleagues had to decide individually about vaccines and how many of them were to be vaccinated, she said she did not know. “Regarding the obligation to carry out tests, even here there are different opinions, everyone will have to decide for themselves,” said R.Tamašunienė.

She vows to get vaccinated this week herself and hopes the vaccinations will help her return to Seimas soon.

“It just came to our notice then. If I sign up, it’s probably Thursday, so if there is any reaction, there will be no meeting on Friday. As for the work itself, it was very bad to work remotely. It seems to me that the work is inefficient, wasting time explaining what we pressed wrong.

Vaccines should also be offered to municipal leaders and officials, and the entire strategy should be reviewed, ”said R. Tamašunienė.
