According to the portal, the crew members of the Cassiopea ship, which belongs to the Limarko shipping company, were infected with coronaviruses: four Lithuanians and one Russian.

According to Vytautas Lygnugaris, the president of the Limarkas group, the crew became infected with the coronavirus by reloading the cargo of another ship.

The crew members are suspected of being infected by the crew of the Russian-owned AK-0749 Karelia, who was diagnosed with 23 cases of coronavirus and two hospitalized.

According to the chairman of the Limarko group, the infected crew members feel fine, some do not feel any symptoms at all, but they will be left in the Faroe Islands and replaced by new employees.

All the ship’s facilities will also be disinfected and repeated tests will be carried out for the entire crew.

Cassiopea is still moored in a Faroese port. According to V. Lygnugaris, Limarko will fly new employees in a few days, then the ship will depart for its intended purpose: to West Africa.
