“As of May 10, we would start vaccinating the general public and every week the vaccination would be opened to a new age group,” said A. Dulkys.

This means that from May 10, those who want to receive the coronavirus vaccine in people over 55 will be able to register throughout Lithuania.

As of May 17, it will be possible to register now for people aged 45 and over, as of May 24 – for people aged 35 and over, and from May 31 – from 16 years old.

“Residents on the priority group list but not yet vaccinated would also be invited to get vaccinated at any time, as has been the case so far. We hope that our plan will not change, of course, if the vaccine manufacturers do not change the schedules of vaccines. delivery, ”said A. Dulkys.

A new common registration system is expected to open as of May 17. Links to municipal websites can be registered. There would also be a call center, 1808. It will answer all questions about vaccines, and it will also be possible to register for vaccines there. It will be possible to register another person.

It will be a unified call center managed by the Kaunas ambulance station.

“The municipalities have already begun to join the common system. There are 3 main stages: By May 13, we expect all connection work to be completed. The Kaunas City Ambulance Station, as the lead administrator of the system, organizes a centralized vaccination registration process. At present, 17 municipalities have already been added ”, mentioned the Minister.

According to A. Dulkis, the system itself is not new, it is the same platform used to record studies on COVID-19.

Only one of the four vaccines registered and used in Lithuania, Comirnaty (manufactured by Pfizer and BioNTech), can be administered to people over 16 years of age. And people over the age of 18 can be offered the vaccine Comirnaty (manufactured by Pfizer and BioNTech), Vaxzevria (manufactured by AstraZeneca), Moderna (manufactured by Moderna) and Janssen (manufactured by Janssen Pharmaceutica NV).

M. Sinkevičius said that the possibility of registration will start in stages. 30 municipalities will enter the first stage. When asked why, M. Sinkevičius said: “This is probably a decision of the ministry itself, probably a technological solution that does not allow everyone to be taken and connected at once. In the first stage, 30 municipalities will be connected, 17 are already fully recovered and some of them have problems with IT specialists. But before the deadline set by the ministry, we want to gradually introduce everyone into the system. “

The president of the Association of Lithuanian Municipalities drew attention to 2 problematic aspects of the vaccination of the Lithuanian population: the situation in Vilnius, where additional vaccines could advance the vaccination groups, and the second: the municipal problems with the Vaxzevria vaccine, which people do not want. As a result, it was requested to shorten the interval between 2 doses of vaccine.

“The massive process has revealed many flaws, both those of eHealth and the expectations and behavior of people are not always the same as in Excel spreadsheets. To expect that we will introduce very strict rules now, or that we act as a watch, we must recognize that this is not possible. Today, our message was more to feel the rhythm of the whole of Lithuania and how we would like to move, (…) control the flows. Well, I think that in the practice of life we will have to check how it is really with AstraZeneca over a 12 week period, if this is really the main reason we don’t want to get vaccinated with it, ”said A. Dulkys.

If nothing changes due to vaccine shipments, in June, the first dose of the vaccine could already be 1.2 million. population. At the end of June, the first dose should be vaccinated above 50%. population.

“But I say this very cautiously, because the information provided by the manufacturers changes a lot,” said A. Dulkys.

How it will be done with Vilnius, which is significantly advanced with vaccinating the younger age groups, will still be discussed.
