In the book, M. Stonkus shared a long history, in which he remembered his past: about a year at school, positive and negative experiences in it.
M. Stonkus concluded his open speech with joy: he immerses himself in a new activity related to education: together with his brother Silvester and like-minded Eimantas, he founded a virtual school.
“It just came to our knowledge then. When I was in high school and I finished it, I never thought that I would have to go back to it in the future, but I came back. My school memories are twofold: I remember good times with my classmates, we were like a fist and really inseparable friends, I remember extracurricular activities, we had a music group, organized events and had no equal in school performances or performances. I remember the long breaks during which I had time to eat in the canteen and play a game in the basketball court, and still come home to change Of course, I remember the tours when the visit to the Horse Museum faded in the face of the intrigues and dramas of love on a bus trip.
When I start to think about lessons and teachers, I realize that my memories in this place are no longer so vivid. I was not the worst student, but certainly not the best. I always stayed in the middle. I had a good story, I got along with the teacher, even though she was a teacher in a competitive class, you know, classes A and B compete always and everywhere, but we were friends and this is the teacher I spoke to even after from graduation, I’ll call her and write this text. “Somehow it touched the feelings,” M. Stonkus shared her memories.

The famous also remembered the lessons: he discovered what he did better and what he did more difficult. “I also really enjoyed the geography lessons, sometimes in preparation for the exam the next day, I went back to other topics in the textbook and got so involved that I forgot what I was preparing for, but I didn’t suffer much because the teacher felt my propensity for improvisation. But if we’re talking about math, chemistry, or physics, then I have to admit, it was a shallow forest for me. At some point my parents and I were still trying to hire a math tutor, but we hit it off. I realized that it was a waste of money because the gaps already seemed too big. I was lucky that the exact sciences were not needed to achieve my dream, but it is not always possible to rely only on success “, he is convinced.
Now that I remind myself, I see that I may have dropped my hands too soon.
Mantas considers that the role of the teacher is very important and can sometimes be a decisive factor in the interest of a child or, conversely, in the abandonment of their studies.
“Now when I remind myself, I see that I may have dropped my hands too soon, but the behavior and comments from the teachers also added neither self-confidence nor motivation. I think there is still a practice where, when approaching exams, teachers focus only on some of the most talented students, leaving others in the background. Of course, I also understand teachers, who have not always had enough time to fill in the gaps caused by the worst abilities or natural qualities of the student ”, considers Mantas.
Education of the new generation
These things have led the actors to undertake new activities: they believe that times are changing and that education can be inclusive, encourages independent thinking, supports strong qualities.
“I am not a specialist in this field or a graduate professor, but I am a former student. I remember when the topic was more valuable than independent thinking and the amount of knowledge was valued rather than the ability to use it. The division of students into good students and “overeating”, the bullying tactics of “there will be nothing from you” and “where will you disappear when the exams come” have unfortunately not disappeared and still exist. Therefore, together with like-minded people, we created a digiklase.lt virtual school, where everyone is motivated from 8th to 12th grade. the student will receive the best conditions for improvement and the search for better academic results. Our teachers are progressive, the best specialists in their field, including both Cambridge graduates and teachers from the best Lithuanian schools, ”says M. Sttonkus.
“For example, our biology teacher has discovered 4 unique viruses, and the average state maturity test of his students is 93 points, Just say’. The goal of our school is to help all students, regardless of their social status or place of residence, we are accessible wherever the Internet is available. In the digital classroom platform, we feed: sincere care and attention to the student and their achievements; Youth sociability, the community, not only listen to the needs of the student, but also provide the opportunity to contribute to decisions and change. Thank you, my school and teachers, I can continue my studies! ”- Mantas ended her speech on a happy note.
