The Kėdainiai Chamber of the Kaunas District Court extended the preventive detention measure for a period of three months: the arrest of KPen Jonava, accused of kidnapping properties belonging to the Kėdainiai District Consumer Cooperative in a group of 1,647.94 euros of accomplices.

“K. Mr. P. has contacts abroad and claims that he has lived and worked in France for a year. In the past, KP has been sentenced 7 times, also for committing crimes against property, property rights and property interests, committed new offenses without conviction, does not draw conclusions from previous offenses, committed a similar offense upon release, which presupposes a reasonable conclusion that the defendant is not to maintain his behavior for a period of time longer, to adapt to existing rules of conduct and moral standards in society. ” – The Kaunas District Court ruling cites the ruling.

The court found that K. P., sentenced 7 times, is not bound by strong social, family and employment ties to Lithuania, so he can hide.

The man asked the court to grant him a more lenient arrest because he confessed to having committed the crime and said he wanted to work. His defense attorney stated that it was not appropriate to continue to apply the strictest detention measure – arrest – to the accused, since the accused has the opportunity to work.

The court concludes that K. P., who has been sentenced seven times before, is not bound by strong social, family and labor ties to the Republic of Lithuania, to avoid the imprisonment he faces, he may still try to flee (hide).

This decision can be appealed to the Kaunas Regional Court within 20 days.
