Kaunas “Žalgiris” started the Euroleague season with five wins in six rounds and is currently at the top of the standings. Contributed significantly to the good results of the team Marius grigonis, who was voted the most profitable basketball player in the Euroleague in October.
So far, the 26-year-old is playing the best season of his career in the Euroleague. During an average of 27 minutes on the field, Žalgiris scores 15.5 points, bounces 2.7 balls and provides 2.8 assists per game. Such numbers allow the defender to average 16.2 utility scores.
During the six games this season in the Euroleague, M. Grigonis did not exceed the number of double-digit points obtained only once: in the duel with Crvena Zveda from Belgrade, he scored 8 points.
Still, Kaunas played two matches in which he improved his performance records in the Euroleague. He scored 21 points (5/8 triples) in Chimki’s basket in Moscow region, and his sixth round match against ASVEL from Vilerban was his best career.

M. Grigonis became the fourth basketball player “Žalgiris”. The Euroleague season managed to get such a rating. In December 2007, Marcus Brown was recognized as the most useful basketball player in the Euroleague, and in 2017-2018. in the season, two Žalgiris residents received such an evaluation. Paulius Jankūnas became the Most Helpful Player of the Month in December and Brandon Davies in April.
