Belarus claims that Lithuania’s neighbors, Latvia and Poland, are behaving inhumanely by not admitting migrants or providing them with assistance.
Iraqis themselves film and show how they spend their time in the middle of the fields, near a stream. And he explains that they are still on the territory of Belarus, but after overcoming the water obstacle, they hope to reach Lithuania.
Other illegals are showing bruises and wounds on their feet to Belarusian border guards. It is as if the Lithuanians who did not admit them to the European Union treat them that way.
And his fate brothers are already broadcasting from the Rūdninkai training ground, not the rest and concentration before walking through the fields, but the anger when they are trapped in a protected camp in Rūdninkai. They are being protected by armed officials and are illegally complaining both about the conditions of their detention and the fact that their freedom to move to Europe has been restricted.
It is true that some are relatively lucky. Last week, 34 border rapists escaped from the Alytus district. They broke the fence. The authorities have detained 22 foreigners, but so far they do not detail how many of them have fled the camp. His friends who lived in other countries were illegally detained and taken away.
The Minister of the Interior, Agnė Bilotaitė, stated: “People who arrive at a certain object arrive by prior agreement and take them to transport them to the final destination. Still, the bleak images of the camps and stories about Lithuanian border guards pushing back deter those who want to enter illegally. “Only a dozen migrants had to turn themselves in and deny entry to our officials on the last day.”
Just 2 weeks ago, a record number of illegal residents were arrested in the country: 294. But when people started to stop admitting, the number dropped dramatically. In recent days, only a few have entered Lithuania, such as ill illegals or mothers with young children.
“The situation has stabilized and allows us to focus on return processes, 5 mobile group migration departments have already started and this is the time when we can focus on these jobs, but we cannot relax and calm down,” says A. Bilotaitė.
Migrants go to Latvia and Poland
If the number of illegals in Lithuania is decreasing, some of them have moved from Belarus to Latvia and Poland. Those who tried to enter neighboring Latvia illegally also got caught between the two states. Lukashenko’s regime, like on the border with Lithuania, is trying to prevent Minsk migrants from the border section from returning to the depths of Belarus.
In the propaganda footage, Lukashenko’s own border guards are blocking the way for migrants, filming them crying and torturing them. And this is supposedly presented as proof that not only the Lithuanians, but also the Latvians are behaving relentlessly. It shows that medical aid is not even provided, so it is up to Belarusians to do so.
And the Belarusian border guards are showing how to provide assistance to an illegal person who has allegedly been harmed by the Poles. Lukashenko’s propagandists accompanied those images with inscriptions that the Poles learned from the Lithuanians and also became famous.
Non-governmental officials have previously explained that such tactics used by Lithuania, and now by Latvians and Poles, are contrary to European Union migration rules. The presidency reports that Gitan Nauseda will ask European leaders to change them so that they do not have to accept everyone at the border.
“The Migration Pact announced by the European Commission last year and its further consideration in the EU institutions is a good opportunity for Lithuania to come up with proposals based on its experience in countering the hybrid attack – the artificially caused flow of migrants.
By actively operating in all EU Council formats and proposing concrete changes, Lithuania can achieve greater involvement from the European Commission and other EU institutions. The President invites the Lithuanian Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs to identify how the provisions of EU legislation should be amended so that the EU can effectively respond to such threats, ”the presidency report reads.
The Poles arrested almost a thousand illegal people this year. Latvians have already turned away nearly 400 migrants and one hundred and a half have been detained.
“Both Latvia and Poland followed our example, our specialists went and consulted both Latvians and Poles, and we are currently coordinating our actions and taking very similar measures,” says A. Bilotaitė.
In a couple of months, more than 4,000 border rapists were arrested in Lithuania, and only 1 Iraqi left the country voluntarily. They not only bought him tickets but also paid him 300 euros. Some politicians say that Lithuania may also have to deal with the remaining illegals in the future, trying to integrate them into society.
