After graduating from Krekenava primary school, Laima Gėgžnaitė studied at the Panevėžys girls’ gymnasium (renamed second secondary school in 1949), after graduation she entered the Faculty of Physics at Vilnius University, where she received classes in outstanding physicists Lithuanians of the time: prof. P. Brazdžiūnas, A. Jucys, doc. H. Jonaitis et al. 1953 She studied in the Kaunas Polytechnic Institute graduate course, graduating in 1956. She began working in the VU Department of Experimental Physics as an assistant, while teaching special physics subjects at VVPI in a secondary position. Here he became involved in the operation of the crystallophosphorus research laboratory, and in 1973. He defended his candidate thesis at the Scientific Council of the VU Faculty of Physics: “Some Effects of Electroluminescence of Zinc Sulfide Crystallophosphorus” (Supervisor doc P.Pipinys). He has published 17 scientific articles in prestigious Lithuanian and foreign physics journals, and has presented articles at congresses of national and foreign physicists. His alumni, in various meetings, warmly recall his principles and insistence, his infinite patience in interpreting the most complex subjects of optics and spectroscopy. 1993 the year he retired, further developing amateur gardening.
