However, immediately after the Bulgarian singer a video was uploaded with a Ukrainian work, who appeared before The Roop in the Eurovision final. It rang after our show: number 19.
After the videos, there were disturbing comments with questions about where the performance of the Lithuanian representatives “The Roop” had disappeared.
It is true that the administrators of the page noticed their mistake after a while, and the applauded performance of “The Roop” still went public.
The Roop really caused a real disco in the Eurovision 2021 final. The band turned out great, the show was spectacular! We can be proud of a perfectly crafted and professional Lithuanian performance, it also impressed the audience: it supported the Lithuanian representatives with much applause and shouts.
The enchanting energy of the stage delighted not only the group members, but their dancers as well. They all wore recognizable yellow suits. The background was dominated by black and purple. A disco ball appeared on the LED screens for a short time, and the floor was “painted” with the motifs of a checkerboard.
On the last day, the group welcomed a call from Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda on Saturday.
“The president called and conveyed his wishes, saying that he is currently in the Neringa belt. He conveyed his wishes to the whole group, said that Lithuania no longer looks worse than other countries and is very happy about it. He also wanted us to focus on the show, to enjoy it and not think about places. Support from the tallest person in the state is good. It is not every day that presidents call someone. What we do happens to be at the state level. And I hope the culture is widely recognized at the state level. When it will not be considered a secondary hobby. And it will no longer be the case that when something needs to be cut, it is above all culture. I already mentioned that with in-store promotions, we won’t get very far. We need to see more. The attention of the Prime Minister and the President gave me hope that, as in many countries, culture will finally be taken more seriously, ”said the group’s vocalist Vaidotas Valiukevičius.
When asked if rituals or talismans are trying to achieve success before the show, the band members first mentioned the yellow stage costumes that became their calling card at the Eurovision Song Contest. But still, the most important ritual for them to get on stage is concentration.
“Stay calm for at least an hour or two and focus, don’t get distracted, don’t hit yourself, don’t rehearse. Maybe we will today. Staying alone is our strength ”, answered the question Mantas Banišauskas, a member of the group.
The men made no secret of the fact that both last year, when they hit the song “On Fire,” and this year, they are receiving a lot of attention from fans, the media, and other stakeholders. Social media is simply separating itself from incoming messages. When asked how many missed calls and messages they find after leaving the stage after the performance, the group members agreed, “Countless.”
“Since last year, I have not been able to manage the social space, where I am marked by a large number of entries. It used to be one after the other, and now it’s just impossible to erase those red numbers that appear next to the news icon. Before, I didn’t know what a message box would look like if a lot of emails appeared. Now I know it shows 99+, although there may be a thousand and two letters. We don’t have time to read everything, but we feel very supportive and happy about it, “said V. Valiukevičius.
The Lithuanian delegation is commended as one of the friendliest participants this year. Hearing this fact, the group members rejoiced.
“It just came to our notice then. I think we came here in a very good mood. Today, the hotel staff praised us saying that they were talking to other hotels about other delegations. They said we are perfect. We have not covered our noses, we have come to work well on stage and we are open ”, said the members of the group.
When asked if they had prepared a message that they would like to send to Europe in case of victory, the group members were upset, but said: “Please wait for the broadcast to end. Maybe we have something in mind, but the fireworks have to go off last. “
“We wish you peace of mind. Peace on the screens, joy. Rejoice in this yellow wave that has brought everyone together. Let us be strong in every situation.
