There is an influx of families and children in the parks of the capital. As long as there are at least some unmelted snowflakes on the hillside, the kids will enjoy them. The first heavy snowfall in Vilnius shocked families, who entertained the children early in the morning and skated on the hills.

“Very cheerful, happy, he immediately says: ‘Dad takes the sled out to the field.’
“I miss that snow, the first one. And anyway, the snow longed for. Last year there were few, that’s a little earlier this year. We are very happy,” said another.
Not only the residents of Vilnius were happy. More snow fell in the Panevėžys, Utena and Zarasai districts. According to meteorologists, the snowflakes survived longer in eastern Lithuania, in rural areas.
“Meteorologists and climatologists say there will be more snow in the coming weeks,” said meteorologist Naglis Šulija.
It is not yet clear whether we will accept being surrounded by snow on the main holidays of the year. Forecasts are changing rapidly, but forecasts for Europe 50 days in advance so far suggest that December will be warmer than usual. So we can welcome Christmas without snow.
