Since 2002, the Special Operations Force, during its mission in Afghanistan, has become the first user of the new generation small arms system, the G-36.

At that time, the squad received weapons from the G-36 KV series. The weapon is not short, the barrel is slightly longer to ensure that soldiers have access to the weapon not only in close combat but also at long range, at a distance of about 300 or 400 meters. The modification of such a weapon has not only a factory collimator but also an optical sight. These devices helped soldiers increase their accuracy and recognize the enemy more quickly.

Weapons from other modifications were also used, such as the G-36 C, a compact version of the weapon. The barrel of this weapon is shorter, it is a weapon adapted for close combat. This last modification was liked by the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of the Special Operations Forces. This modification is extremely convenient for cleaning buildings, intervention missions. That is, the effectiveness of the weapon is equivalent to that of the mp5 melee weapon, which is manufactured by the same company as the G-36, the German company Heckler & Koch. It should be noted that the stopping power of the G36 is significantly higher than that of said mp5 automatic machine gun.
