According to the report, passengers will be able to see updated schedules from December 19. on the website train-bilietas.lt. The changes will take effect on Monday, December 21.
“Throughout the pandemic, we try to maintain the necessary long-distance connections so that people can get to work or medical facilities. We keep this promise even now: the routes remain, only the number of trips on them is optimized. We need to make changes, because passenger traffic is falling drastically: almost 70% has been observed in recent days. Fall compared to the same period last year. This is understandable: restrictions have been introduced to travel between municipalities, only Some exceptions apply, so the trips that can wait are postponed, ”says Linas Baužys, Director of LTG Link.
According to L.
Passengers are asked to assess their well-being and stay home with at least the slightest symptoms of a cold. Also, travel only when travel is necessary:
- Go to work in another municipality;
- For planned or emergency medical care;
- Due to the loss of loved ones;
- For other objectively justified reasons of urgency, it is unavoidable to go to a municipality other than the one in which you reside.
Passengers must have a document proving the reason for the necessary trip, such as a work certificate, medical visit appointment, etc. (photos of the document on the phone will be enough), because, according to the Lithuanian Police, it is possible to control passengers at stations and train stops.
