39 new Volkswagen Caddy cars will take to the streets of Lithuania, serving as rapid response vehicles for the police.
Compact cars have capacity and performance. The 4Motion all-wheel drive will allow you to answer calls not only in the city, but also in more difficult areas. The car’s elevated and reinforced chassis and Tukada Tech designed and manufactured lower guards will allow you to reach all the necessary response points faster.
The new police cars are designed to comfortably transport 3 police officers and up to 2 detainees. For the transport of the latter, a new, safe and spacious cabin has been designed, in which the original space is provided for one person, but if necessary a folding chair can be used for the second.
The car has 3 convenient places for officers and all their equipment: a “hedgehog” used to force the cars of offenders, bulletproof vests, weapons, gear bags and other work equipment.
“Our engineers had to turn their heads to find space in this compact car for 3 officers and 2 detainees who needed a separate isolated cabin and space for all police equipment. We left a comfortable seat for the officer in the back and installed a special container for police supplies next to it. They are easy to reach quickly through the side door. Behind the driver’s seat there was space for the necessary components of the car: a spare tire, an elevator, a pharmacy and others, ”said Mantas Pečiukaitis, a representative of Tukada Tech, who prepared the cars for police work.
The Volkswagen Caddy is also equipped with advanced technologies: video and audio recording equipment that monitors not only the front, rear, but also the interior; router for Internet access; electric heater; a fan to extract air from the roof and more beacons than usual to make cars visible to road users. All electrical equipment is powered by an additional battery with external charging capacity.
