The month-long Eurovision selection reached the finish line: on Saturday, the audience saw who would represent Lithuania at Eurovision in 2021.
Summarizing the votes of the committee and the audience, it was clear that The Roop will travel to Rotterdam this year.
Six musicians and bands competed for the right to represent Lithuania on the stage of the great Eurovision Song Contest: Gebrasy, Martyna, Evita Cololo, Voldemar Peterson, Titas and Ben, The Roop.
Which finalist do you support?
After the cancellation of the competition in Rotterdam last year, its organizers assured that Eurovision 2021 would take place. However, in order not to repeat the 2020 scenario and not run out of music festival, four plans (scenarios) were presented to guarantee it.
It is written that, at least for the moment, the organizers are preparing to implement a scenario in which all Eurovision participants will have to keep a distance of 1.5 m from each other, which is a key detail of this plan.
The arena will also be equipped with all security measures, as well as COVID-19 tests.

If a delegation from either country cannot make it to Rotterdam, a pre-recorded performance by the artist will be broadcast live.
There will be nine shows in total: six dress rehearsals, two semi-finals, and one final. It has not yet been decided whether spectators will be admitted to the arena or whether Eurovision will be able to see a reduced number of spectators from Rotterdam.
The Commission assessed remotely
On the night of the final of the “Eurovision” national team, all the artists performed the songs live during the live broadcast. This time there was no commission on the study. As it consisted of a larger team of experts in the final, they watched the performances on the screens and connected to the broadcast remotely.

This year, due to the current situation in the country, the national teams of the Eurovision Song Contest were filmed without spectators and under strict security requirements, in order to protect both the artists themselves and the team working on the project. .
This year, the performers were remotely evaluated by the performer Stanislavas Stavickis-Stano, the singer Ieva Narkut compos, the composers Jievaras Jasinskis and Vytautas Bikus, the radio and television presenter Gerūta Griniūtė, the performer Aistė Smilgevičiūtė, and the music critic Aist Smilgevičiūtė. Without tears

Soon the first three performances were judged by the commission. Composer Vytautas Bikus claimed that the participants seemed sensitive and strong.

“I am sure that we will continue to see the three artists on stage if they continue to work, because they really have potential,” commented the commissioner.
The interpreter A.Smilgevičiūtė supported Vytautas. The woman was happy that we could see so many new and strong artists in these selections. “Martyna’s song is complicated, it is not easy to interpret, especially in motion. But so far I don’t see it organically yet, “said A. Smilgevičiūtė.
The Commissioner gave the most beautiful words to the grieving Gebrasy. “For me, it is the discovery of this Eurovision. What I thought when listening is that we are all human, we are all tired, sometimes you feel tired in your voice, but it gives you beautiful colors. It is a very good show”, the woman did not hide.
The accolades to the artists also traveled from singer Stan. According to him, “Eurovision” this year is difficult, because many of the most popular artists have chosen not to participate: it is said that the winners are clear who to turn to.

“It is these performances that prove that it is worth going here,” Stano said, and Gebrasy expressed his strongest support. “It is probably one of the strongest songs in this year’s competition. He and creativity are one,” said the commissioner.
The last performers were evaluated by R. Zilnys. The music critic said he noticed the potential of Tite and Bene. “I have no doubt that if they don’t leave this year, they will definitely come back,” he said.
Speaking of Martyna’s song, the man said it wasn’t easy for her, but the girl did a great job and the selection was a great start to her musical journey.

But the biggest start here is likely to be at Gebrasy. “This year’s selection is the moment when Lithuania paid attention to this artist. The song is really very beautiful. This is a performance that will be discussed after the selection,” said R. Zilnys.
After the first trio of artists, the second appeared. Voldemars Petersons, Evita Cololo and crowd favorite “The Roop” took the stage. However, the commission showered a barrage of compliments on The Roop.

This year, the selection was quite short: it consisted of only two qualifying shows, the semi-final and the final. 5 out of 10 who reached the semifinals went to the final. What they are is determined by the votes of the viewers and the commission, which were divided equally. The Roop will also compete in the final, which will receive a spot in this year’s final.
