Litexpo opens the ArtVilnius’20 contemporary art fair | Culture

The 11th fair is expected to be attended by 50 galleries and 200 artists from 10 countries, organizers said.

The event will feature private collections of international art, an exhibition of “Takas” installations, sculptures and performances, encounters with art stars, debates, lectures and an educational program.

New this year is a performance space, where artists Evaldas Jansas and Kristina Švenčionytė, Dr. Gora Parasit Performances, Monika Dirsytė, Bon Along.

In the special area of ​​the ArtVilnius’20 project, the project will be presented by the Krakow Museum of Contemporary Art MOCAK, the Lewben Art Foundation, the Center for Contemporary Art and the Jonas Mekas Center for Visual Arts.

After the break, the jazz virtuoso Vladimir Tarasov returns to the fair, the artists Donatas Jankauskas-Duonis and Augustas Serapinas, who will participate in the fair for the first time and make Lithuania famous abroad, will show their individual projects.

An extensive photography program will be presented at the fair. It features projects by the Latvian artist Arnis Balčius and the Lithuanian Vytenis Jankūnas, who lives in the United States. The galleries will present a series of classics of Lithuanian photography on their stands: Algimantas Aleksandravičius, Rimantas Dichavičius, Remigijus Treigis, Violetas Bubelytė and others.

Art discussions, lectures and presentations will take place in the LRT studio.

On Saturday an international conference on metamodernism will also be held at Litexpo with the participation of the author.

ArtVilnius organizes the event “Night in the Gallery” for the fourth time. Evenings are invited to the galleries of the city on Friday, and the gallery doors will be open until 11 pm
