The cockpit flight data and voice recorders could help answer the question of why Sriwijaya Air’s Boeing 737-500 crashed into the Java Sea from an altitude of about 3,000m in less than a minute on Saturday.
So far, investigators have not provided specific answers as to why the plane crashed about four minutes after taking off from Jakarta, but on Sunday they said they had identified the location of the “black boxes.”

“The operation will be carried out 24 hours. There will be no breaks. The sooner we find the victims, the better,” he added.
