The idea for the Ferrari car sculpture was born in Ervinas Buga, who lives in Startevė, Panevėžys district. After a heavy snowfall, the man decided to build an ordinary garden without a brain, but then he came up with the idea of making the snow something more interesting. The 29-year-old, who has more than 150 Ferrari car models in his collection, has decided to try to build one of the cult Ferrari cars, the LaFerrari model, out of snow.
“I’m a Ferrari fan and the LaFerrari is one of the most impressive models. Very unique body lines. We managed to make the car life-size, just the way it is. There are some places where it has not been able to complete the features, but all Anyway, everything was done looking at the LaFerrari model. According to the creator of the supercar, the natural conditions also became a challenge in the creative process, as it became difficult to form the contours of the car as the snow solidified. Ervin Buga revealed that it took approximately 12 hours from the first touch of snow to the final result.
“It was a long time before I hit the snowballs on the ground before I spun everything. It was the most frustrating. And then I made a rectangle, I started to form features. First the front, then the rear, the roof.
Doing small details also took time. Especially like the Ferrari badges and inscriptions. At first, Ferrari was unpainted, but before creating it, I already thought it needed to be painted. It just wasn’t decided by color. I had the idea to paint it yellow, but decided to go for the symbolic Ferrari red.
I used the paint in a way that didn’t harm the environment when the car started to melt. I had paint, because when I collect models, I paint, fix and restore some, ”said Ervinas Buga.
Ervin Buga says there was practically no shortage of snow for his work, although he had to borrow some from the adjacent plot. But none of the neighbors who lived nearby were angry about the borrowed snow. On the contrary, there are probably no more residents at Start Gardens who would not have visited Ervin and Donata Bugs’ yard. Everyone wants to immortalize a life-size but temporary Ferrari LaFerrari.
“When I started to roll snowballs, to form snow, the neighbors were already asking me what I was climbing here: a brainless, a bunker or a castle. It was not until the features began to emerge that people saw a supercar appear on the patio. A man from Canada has come to the Starts, for the first time here, he saw that Ferrari when it was still white, and now he saw red, he rushed to take pictures again, “said Ervin Buga.

Ervin Buga argues that the piece is likely to survive as long as it remains cold. The author still covered the car in water to keep it a little chilly, so the Bug family hopes to keep the Ferrari LaFerrari in their yard until spring.
