Panevėžys Lietkabelis has filed a lawsuit with the city’s Regional Court requesting that former director Mantas Ignatavičius award damages of € 42,955 in favor of the club, the team’s press release announces.
The club based its claim on the fact that Ignatavičius, in his capacity as club director, paid, in the club’s opinion, a total of € 42,955 for the marketing services allegedly provided to UAB Omega Action, of which Ignatavičius was director and shareholder. .
According to the club, the factual circumstances and written evidence allow a reasonable conclusion to be drawn that UAB Omega Action did not in fact provide, did not provide, and did not even have objective opportunities to provide the club with the services provided for in the agreement between the parties.
The transaction between the club and UAB Omega Action regarding the provision of services is alleged, the club did not receive anything from said transaction, said transaction was absolutely useless for the club.
The club had its own human resources to meet the need for marketing services and used / exploited them, so the club in general had no objective need to acquire this type of service and especially at such a high price.
The court confirmed the club’s claim in its entirety and awarded former manager Ignatavičius compensation of 42,955 euros and legal fees of more than 4,000 euros. This decision can be appealed to the appellate court within 30 days.
