The professor was glad that the key features were still being confirmed. In the middle of the cold season, and again curious to know what the other side will be and how we will end it. This time, the ethnologist says: “Briefly, the rest of the winter will be changeable.”
There will be no rush
According to dr. L. Klimkos, the first half of winter was mild, the cold pressed slightly and the white winter mantle appeared, it disappeared again. But in the remaining month and a half we can expect a little more degrees with less.
“Looking at the days from St. Lucia (December 13), when the weather is expected for all the years to come, the first few months will not be very cruel. Although, for example, January, which is characterized by Lucy’s day – how she sniffed, how the wind blew – shows that the party should not take long.

December 14, which predicts February weather, was hazy and a bit remote. Therefore, it can be said that the shortest winter month must be dominated by negative temperatures, but as there is fog, there will be no greater cold ”, shared the interlocutor.
Remembering that the professor’s thoughts at the end of the fall had come true, he only nodded his head and added:
“It just came to our attention then. And St. Martin’s Day (November 11) didn’t fool this time: it was relatively warm, which clearly showed that Christmas will be snowy. “
There will be snow
Looking ahead, the ethnologist immediately reported that the first month of spring should also be similar to the last of winter.
“March should be very similar – cold, snowy, but not very cold or thunder. Since neither December 13 nor 14 was with heavy rain, rain or snow, this indicates that the snow will not be deep. Like now, a little sniffing, a little snow coming down, there will be no deep peninsulas or sparks, “said the doctor of natural sciences about his observations.
Judging by the teacher’s predictions, the remaining winter months should be the winter of children’s dreams, not too cold, but with big snowmen, because the snow should climb perfectly at those temperatures.
“It just came to our attention then. Maybe a more consistent climate will slow down cookies and those illnesses – fewer colds and every cold threatens complications”, – dr. L. Klimka.
Samogitia brings it all together
During the Christmas and New Year period, Samogitia and the northern regions of Lithuania were able to enjoy the gift of nature, especially the abundant snow. In other places, however, the eyes of this beauty and joy were much less obstructed. According to the ethnologist, these tendencies can also be deduced in codes provided by nature, but this requires a particularly close observation.
“Yes, the signals show some trends in large areas, in regions where there may be less rain and where there is more. I’d say there will be more rain in Samogitia for the rest of the winter. Since I am now quarantined in the Zarasai district, my observations are mainly based on observations in this district. However, I could not see very big differences ”, said the interlocutor.
Still, central Lithuania, where Kėdainiai is located, is one of those regions that is often overtaken not only in summer but also in winter. Dr. Mr. Klimka agreed and explained why this was the case.
“This is because the Samogitian highlands somewhat stop the rainfall that cyclones carry and there is always more rain and snow. Although those heights are small, they still have some influence and, let’s say, cover Lithuania a bit. Samogitia collects it. all, so the grass and forests are lush and denser there. As said in ancient times, “even the crusaders find it difficult to go through the forests of Samogitia,” said the professor with a smile.
And thanks for the ideas shared and goodbye until the end of winter, when it will be interesting to know again what spring we will enjoy, dr. L. Klimka added:
“I’m very interested in seeing for myself what my predictions will be like and if they will come true.”
