Regretting not having participated in the elections, Martynas Levickis shared with his followers on his official Facebook page.
“Achtung, Achtung. I’ve been robbed! Or civil law, duty and the elephant “, this is how M. Levickis began recording on the social network.

A well-known accordionist explained that he had just given a concert in Poland, so when he returned to Lithuania, he had to isolate himself.
“This week, after a 7 month hiatus, I had the opportunity to play for a foreign audience. 7 months of silence on stage outside of Lithuania is already unusual for me. However, I have spent most of my career abroad. So this concert trip abroad was an important event for me.
Close stranger, neighbor. I participated in a festival in Poland. Even before I left, I knew there was a great chance that I would find myself isolated when I returned. And today is your third day. Also, it is an electoral day in which I am not going to participate ”, Martynas did not hide his disappointment.

It turns out that although he complied with the request to vote in self-isolation, the members of the electoral commission did not visit him.
“Realizing that I could lose my right to vote on Sunday due to current restrictions, I applied to the CEC on Wednesday with a request to vote at home for self-isolation. The request was received, and this was all the information. received from the CEC, nothing more.
Last night I realized that civic duty and right had taken over and evaporated. That civic duty and that right that pressured me from within, when I was tortured watching the party debate, realizing that I have no one to vote for this year, because some do not believe, the second is desperate and the third does not correspond to my beliefs. . What is most disgusting is that, looking at the last debate, I have not been so convinced why I can afford to vote anyway; Let’s just say, smoothly, I built my pick on behalf of that position. And it’s in vain because nobody cares.
What other welfare state, what other human rights and what other mutual respect are great things. Guns diluted by the gay sputum of the hyssop on the sidewalk that he himself had just swept (this, by the way, is not a literary but factual testimony) of the disability of the CCA. And whoever is between these two randomly selected subjects, they can all complete for themselves. It is a pity that even after 30 years of state-building, as the English say, we are not seen in the ivory room. Instead, we claim to have some kind of prosperity. Prosperity starts with respecting yourself and others, well, even the elephant in the room, ”M. Levickis wrote on Facebook.
The CEC promises to explain
Already on Sunday morning it was announced that the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is committed to clarifying all the reports when people in self-isolation reported that they had not received members of the electoral commissions. However, it is argued that these may have been isolated cases rather than a systemic loophole.
CEC media representative Indrė Ramanavičienė told BNS on Sunday that six such reports have been received so far, although it is not ruled out that there may be more, and all these cases will be investigated in detail.
According to the representative of the CEC, this year the workload of election organizers visiting citizens at home has increased significantly, as almost a quarter more people registered to vote at home than during the Seimas elections in 2016.
“The burden on election commissions walking home and organizing voting at home has increased and there may have been some isolated cases where election commissions have not visited,” he said.
As early as Saturday, there were reports that several people in self-isolation due to the coronavirus had not received members of the electoral commission.
The election observation organization White Gloves also responded to these reports.
“After the home vote, Baltosios pirštinės received more than 10 reports from citizens who are in self-isolation and pre-registered for the home vote in accordance with the CEC procedure. Voters say they have received confirmation of their vote in home, but they have not received the members of the electoral commission, “said a press release issued Sunday morning.
The electoral observation organization “White Gloves” seeks to know the extent of the violations of the rights of these voters and invites all those who face a similar situation when it comes to voting at home to report a special email. Email address [email protected]. Please provide a brief presentation of the case, the county / district with which you have been contacted and the contact details, ”the report asks.
It also indicates that the cases will be examined by the organization’s lawyers and referred to the Central Electoral Commission. Going to court is being considered.
