The contracts of both basketball players provided for the possibility of expanding cooperation in the summer, so although they had received the attention of foreign clubs, both defenders decided to continue competing in Kaunas.
Grigonis, 26, who came to Žalgiris from the ALBA club in Berlin in 2018, assumed the role of team leader from the beginning of last season, but suffered an injury in November and spent the rest of the season.
Until then, the Kaunas player had played 10 games in the Euroleague, during which he spent an average of 25 minutes on the field, scored 11.5 points, recovered 2.6 balls and made 2 assists.
At the time, Lekavičius, 26, returned to the team last year after spending two years at the Panathinaikos Club in Athens.
The 180-centimeter player, who started the season with a slightly tougher season, gained momentum throughout the season and averaged 10.5 points, made 2.8 assists and accumulated 10.2 profit points during the 27 games played in the Euroleague.
“I feel very good in Kaunas, so staying here is not a difficult decision.” Also next season, several new challenges await us, which is intriguing, ”Lekavičius said of his decision.
