Latvia will open connections with Europe, but there is a condition

The test must be done no later than 72 hours before entering Latvia. The certificate must be presented by all persons arriving in the country, including Latvian nationals returning home.

The requirement of such a certificate will not apply to children under 11 years of age, persons who have presented a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, diplomats, employees of a passenger transport company, air passengers in transit or seafarers traveling to or from from your workplace.

On the other hand, the 10-day isolation requirement and other instructions from the Latvian Center for Disease Prevention and Control for those coming from countries with high risk of infection will remain in force.

This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia.

Until January 15, international passenger transport will not be allowed with countries where the incidence of COVID-19 in the last 14 days 100 thousand. the population is twice the average for the EU and EEA. As of January 4 in this group of European countries: Lithuania, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Liechtenstein, San Marino.

The Latvian government press service announces that the new international traffic rules will be analogous to those that will come into force in Lithuania and Estonia from January 15.
