Kaunas in the list of municipalities compiled according to the level of incidence of coronavirus infection: 21 (1403.8 cases). The number of new infections detected here has increased by 16.15% in the last 7 days. To date, 13059 cases of COVID-19 have been registered. 6,370 Kaunas residents have already recovered from this serious illness, 6,506 are still ill, but it should not be forgotten that there have also been 136 deaths of Kaunas city residents from coronavirus infection. Another 47 Kaunas residents infected with this infection died from other diseases.
The morbidity rate in the Kaunas district is lower than in the neighboring city, this district now ranks 26th on the list of municipalities (1,352.4 cases were recorded per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days). Currently 2,285 are ill and 1,912 residents of the Kaunas district have recovered.
Of the five main cities in Lithuania, Šiauliai is the most difficult to “survive” the virus (12th place in the list of municipalities), where the morbidity rate currently reaches 1622.5 cases. 100,000 population). In this sense, the situation in Klaipėda is brighter (24th place and 1,388.2 cases per 14 thousand inhabitants in 14 days).
The name Vilnius is now included in the second half of the list of municipalities, the capital according to the incidence of coronavirus infection, in 34th place (1285.3 cases). However, the Vilnius district, whose inhabitants are perhaps less disciplined and responsible during the quarantine period, is ranked 15th on the list. In the last 2 weeks, 1,576.7 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered in the municipality of this district for every 100,000 inhabitants.
