Landsbergis did not mention when the three parties that make up the ruling majority could sign a coalition agreement, but noted that it should be in the near future.
“I don’t want to guess the exact date, but I think it will be soon,” Landsbergis told LRT radio.
The politician assured that the coalition talks under way between the conservatives and the two liberal parties are not the subject of heated debates.
“I wouldn’t call it a heated debate, it’s a search for more writing on how we can make sure that coalition partner programming is most accurately reflected.” In all respects, we cannot be equally committed to our colleagues. We know that opinions differ on some issues. We want the program to listen to all the most important opinions of the coalition participants or to suggest the necessary work (done – ELTA) ”, explained the Conservative.
One of the issues on which the views of the coalition partners do not fully agree is the issue of legalization of same-sex couples. However, according to G. Landsbergis, the new Seimas should consider the topic that arouses many discussions and is considered a priority by the Freedom Party.
“I think the new Seimas will definitely consider this issue. Judging from the prevailing language or opinion, I think a solution can be found to this problem. The vote will show whether it will be resolved,” he said.
He assures that the position of Spokesperson for Seimas has not yet been decided
G. Landsbergis assures that there is still no solution among the partners of the coalition that is being formed on who will be the Spokesperson for Seimas.
The politician, who, like the leader of the Liberal Movement, Viktorija Čmilyte-Nielsen, is measured as the head of parliament in the public space, says this will probably become clear next week. In any case, Landsbergis said, it should be clear what positions he will occupy in the new government.
“We look forward to next week. We will see what the big picture of what the coalition partners will offer will look like. Maybe then we will find out where to help Landsbergis,” said the Conservative leader, declining to elaborate on whether he would see himself as the one. Spokesperson for the Seimas.
“I try not to judge myself, to let others judge. If necessary, I can do useful work, ”Landsbergis said.
